Animal Therapy for Children

We are celebrating our one year anniversary by raising funds for Ramat HaNegev's Search and Rescue

Ramat HaNegev's Search and Rescue team has partnered with Boulder's Search and Rescue teams in the past. Both search and rescue teams are composed of wonderful volunteers who give up their personal time to help people in extreme need. The teams perform important life-saving work, and their work has a significant, positive impact on the communities they serve. The Search and Rescue team in Ramat HaNegev needs both equipment and a new facility to service the growing number of people who visit the region. In turn, the Sister City Initiative will be celebrating its one-year anniversary with a fundraiser aimed at assisting the team in Ramat HaNegev with these endeavors.

With your support, we exceeded our goal to raise $5,000 to aid in the renovation and operation of the animal corner in Kibbutz Tlalim. This space is crucial for providing emotional care to evacuees, especially children.

Since October 7th, so many of us in Boulder have been greatly worried about our sister city, Ramat HaNegev, and wondering if there is anything we can do to help. After reaching out to Hadass Nissan, who works for the Ramat HaNegev Regional Council, we learned that there is a project that could use Boulder’s special assistance. Kibbutz Tlalim needed funds to aid in the renovation and operation of their “animal corner,” an animal therapy program that is essential for providing emotional care to evacuees, especially children.

"We want to express our heartfelt thanks to you and your entire community for your significant contribution to the petting zoo at Kibbutz Tlalim!

Over the past few weeks, we completed the construction of the shading pergola, the bridge, and the installation of new planters and greenery.

This was a collaborative effort involving children, residents, and evacuees, turning it into a true celebration.

Your donation has had a profound impact on the daily lives of our families, and we are incredibly grateful for your help in transforming the petting zoo into a pleasant community space for all of us!!"

Warm regards from Israel,

Hadass
